Alessandro Cortini Adds the H8000FW Ultra-Harmonizer to His Arsenal

2/8/2010 - Enhancing texture without comprimising sonic integrity

Alessandro Cortini, probably best known as the keyboard player for Nine Inch Nails from 2005 through 2008, has added the Eventide H8000FW Ultra-Harmonizer® as his go-to processor in his studio in Los Angeles. Cortini is using the H8000FW extensively with his Buchla 200e modular synthesizer, creating textures in a unique four-channel sound system. “Using the H8000FW gives me the flexibility to process and enhance four channels of synthesizer signals without sacrificing sonic integrity.” Cortini stated. “I used the H8000FW a lot on my recent projects, and I am continually amazed at the sonic quality of the H8000FW. Plug-ins are great, and I use them quite a bit, but there is something special about the sound of the H8000FW that creates a special place in the mix. It really makes a big difference.”

Cortini and guitarist Pelle Hillstrom (formerly of Abandoned Pools) lead the band Modwheelmood, who have released their full album, Pearls to Pigs, both digitally and on limited edition CD and vinyl. Cortini has also recently worked on releases with Ladytron, Jovanotti, Yoav, and two Nine Inch Nails releases, Ghosts I-IV, and The Slip.

The culmination of nearly forty years of crafting groundbreaking effects, the H8000FW Ultra-Harmonizer is the most powerful Eventide processor ever. The H8000FW features Eventide’s best eighteen-hundred programs, including 5.1 reverb and effects up to 96 kHz. The H8000FW can process up to eight channels of 24-bit 96 kHz with one cable via FireWire supported by OS-X and Windows. The H8000FW features AES/EBU, ADAT, and S/PDIF digital I/O as well four channels of analog I/O.
