1/17/2008 - Legendary bottleneck slide guitarist upgrades to TimeFactor
Eventide’s reputation for working closely with engineers, producers and artists has manifested itself in a long line of truly unique sounding processors over the past 36 years. Recently, Sonny Landreth, slide guitarist, updated his rig with the new Eventide TimeFactor stompbox, studio quality effects in a sturdy, compact package.
Landreth, revered for his distinctive slide sound on eight solo albums, including the Grammy nominated Road We’re On in 2003, has also lent his fiery six-string talents to countless recordings by name artists.
“I really like the TimeFactor a lot,” said Landreth. “Like a lot of other players, I have used Eventide effects in the studio, so I was very interested to see how it would perform in a stompbox configuration. They’ve definitely nailed this one for guitar players. Sonically, it has great detail, is very rich and natural sounding with a lot of programmable options.”
Landreth is currently on tour using the TimeFactor and is taking advantage of whatever downtime he has from the tour to finish his current album, featuring special guests Eric Clapton, Mark Knopfler, Eric Johnson, and Robben Ford, among others.
